FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
Carlsbad CA, USA - May 3, 2006—Today, Thomson ResearchSoft (www.researchsoft.com),
a business of The Thomson Corporation, announced free monthly
releases for their bibliographic management products EndNote® and
Reference Manager® that enhance connectivity with online sources and
new or changing publishing styles. Each month ResearchSoft posts new
and updated connection files, import filters and journal styles to
the product Web sites so users can save time and reduce the need for
customization.
“Our
goal is to respond to customer requests in a timely manner and
enrich existing connectivity related to our products or
publisher-initiated changes,” said David L. Kochalko, president,
Thomson ResearchSoft. “By doing this in partnership with EndNote and
Reference Manager users who provide suggestions, we now have over
3,600 files for EndNote and 1,900 for Reference Manager.”
Users worldwide depend on EndNote and Reference Manager to locate
bibliographic data and create bibliographies for curricula vitae,
manuscripts, grant proposals, and other documents. These products
provide direct links, called connection files, to hundreds of online
reference databases such as Web of Science, Ovid, PubMed, the
Library of Congress, and university catalogs. Connection files allow
users to search and collect references in personal libraries. Users
can also import references using filters that decipher information
downloaded from online databases. With either method, users can
aggregate reference data easily for citing in their papers
accurately.
EndNote and Reference Manager use pre-defined publishing styles to
create in-text citations and bibliographies instantly following a
journal’s style requirements. Users no longer have to retype or
reformat bibliographies when submitting to another publication.
Available in dozens of different disciplines including medicine,
biosciences, the humanities and social sciences, EndNote and
Reference Manager publishing styles are time-saving conveniences for
researchers worldwide.
Users
can download the entire collection of files, or select individual
files at
www.endnote.com/connectivity and
www.refman.com/connectivity. Release notifications are also sent
to the various product interest groups. Users can request new and
updated files by submitting suggestions to
www.endnote.com/suggest
or www.refman.com/suggest.
