This means abbreviations like WHO or chemical names like NaCl would be inappropriately normalized . To avoid this issue and the requirement to use different casing for different reference types, the setting selected in this output style is Leave titles as entered . To obtain proper formatting, authors will need to enter titles in the appropriate case in the library reference. There are four different examples in the author instructions that need to use Edited Book, since the first piece of data specified in the reference is an editor. EndNote cannot accommodate different formatting for the same reference type so the formatting for some examples will not exactly match the specification. For the two Thwaites examples (multivolume set) the series title The Jesuit Relations and Allied Documents  will need to be entered in the standard title field. The Thwaites example for citing a single volume in a set is problematic, as the series title appears first and is followed by the series volume number, then the title of the volume. EndNote has no volume title field. To properly format this example, in addition to what is stated above, Arcadia  will need to be entered as the series title. Arcadia  will be printed in plain text. For journal articles: " The Issue number is included in the template. EndNote has no way to determine if a journal is paginated by volume so it will always print if it is present in a reference. " The DOI is shown in two different formats ( doi: 10.1017/S1743923X20000331  or https://doi.org/10.1105/tpc.011650 ). EndNote cannot format the same field in the same template differently. The DOI format has been set up with the https://doi.org prefix. " Articles in press are entered as standard journal articles with in press  (minus quotes) in the Year field. Note there will be a period rather than a comma between the journal name and the DOI. Enter published conference abstracts as Journal Article. Enter the description and conference information as part of the title. Using the example found in the author instructions, the title entered would be Examining the national profile of chronic disaster health risks in Australia. Abstract of oral presentation at WADEM Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine 2019  (minus quotes). EndNote does not have a preprint article type. Enter as a Dataset reference type. arXiv  (minus quotes) is entered in the Database Name field. Enter the preprint number with descriptive text in the in the Accession Number field (i.e. preprint 1909.04009 , minus quotes). For the Datasets example in the author instructions, use the Dataset reference type. Enter Harvard Dataverse  (minus quotes) in the Database Name file. Do not include descriptive text (v, V, v. or V.) in the Version field. Articles in conference proceedings (with or without editor/s) should be entered using the Book Section reference type. Book reviews published in journals need to be entered as Journal Article. The review information is entered in the title field, exactly as it should appear in the bibliography. For example, "Review of Business and human rights: From principles to practice, edited by Dorothée Baumann-Pauly and Justine Nolan" (minus the quotes). The magazine article example for a print article has 2019 for the year but April 2020 as the issue date. This is likely a misprint in the author instructions, as this article appears in the April 2019 issue of the magazine. If a year is required along with the date, you must enter it in the Date field (i.e., "April 2020", minus the quotes). Use the Manuscript reference type for the Archival material references. Use the Manuscript reference type for Unpublished manuscript. For the example provided, the information "Report on file at the American Samoa Historic Preservation Office, Pago Pago, American Samoa" is entered in the Library/Archive field (minus the quotes). Use the Conference Paper reference type for Speeches as this is the reference type most closely matching the formatting requirements. Note the Conference Location and date will be in reverse order from the example. Use the Dataset reference type for Items in institutional databases. Use the Accession Number field to enter the full descriptive text for a working paper (i.e., "Working Paper No. 12-03", minus the quotes). Use the Dataset reference type for Databases. Use the Music reference type for the Musical scores example. "Prepared from the autographs &" data is entered in the Form of Item field. EndNote doesn't have dedicated types for musical scores and sound recording. Use the Music reference type for the Sound recordings examples. For the example citing a track from an album, enter the name of the track in the Section field. Enter the recording identifiers (K-826, CL 1355, CDR 90000035.n) in the Volume field. EndNote does not have a way to handle roles, such as "Pine RB (violinist)" shown in the third example.
