You can also use the "Format Paper" feature in EndNote versions X and later (called "RTF Document Scan" in Endnote 7, 8 and 9)
and format RTF documents (rich text format) produced by these and many other word
processors including iWork (Pages 2008 and previous), Mellel, FrameMaker (RTF only, not MIF
files), Nisus, OpenOffice, StarOffice, and others.
Note that Word X support was added in EndNote 6, and Word 2004 support was added in EndNote 8. The first version with Word 2008 support is EndNote X1.
Word 2008
A free update is now available for EndNote X1 users who have Microsoft Word 2008. EndNote X2 is compatible with Word 2008.
Note the following about Word 2008 and EndNote:-
The EndNote manuscript template wizard uses a component not found in Word 2008. Templates can be opened in Word 2008, but the wizard to set elements of the template will not run.
