EndNote teams with Paperpal to bring pre-submission checks to its users
The popular citation manager’s integration with Paperpal’s Preflight feature streamlines manuscript preparation, helping with journal standard compliance.
EndNote™, the powerful citation manager, is teaming with the writing assistant Paperpal to streamline the manuscript preparation process, making it easier for researchers and authors to ensure their work meets journal standards and increase their chances of publication. EndNote now integrates Paperpal’s popular Preflight feature into its Cite While You Write™ tool.
Cite While You Write plus Preflight
Cite While You Write is a tool within EndNote that allows users to easily insert citations directly into their Microsoft Word™ or Google Docs™ documents as they write. This tool is invaluable for maintaining accurate and consistent citations throughout a manuscript.
By integrating Preflight, users will now also gain a comprehensive pre-submission check for manuscripts, focusing on language, grammar, vocabulary and readability. The new Preflight feature will help authors comply with journal requirements and avoid common pitfalls that can lead to rejection. A “submission readiness report” will list the checks the article has passed and those it has failed, giving authors a clear roadmap for improvement.
Big benefits for users
The integration of Paperpal’s Preflight feature into the EndNote Cite While You Write tool brings numerous benefits to users:
- Enhanced manuscript quality: Authors can now check their work for language, grammar, vocabulary, and readability issues before submission.
- Increased chances of publication: By addressing common issues that lead to rejection, the Preflight feature helps authors improve their chances of getting published.
- User-friendly reports: The submission readiness report provides a clear overview of the manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses, allowing authors to make targeted improvements.
- Cost-effective editing: Users have the option to pay $19 for an edited version of their article, which includes suggested language changes and resolutions for technical issues. This edited version can be resubmitted within 30 days at no additional cost.
- Seamless integration: The Preflight feature will be available in Cite While You Write for Word Desktop, Word Online and Google Docs, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
Delivering what users want
The decision to integrate Preflight into EndNote was driven by user feedback. A survey conducted among EndNote users revealed a strong demand for a journal pre-submission report. Responding to this feedback, the teams at Paperpal and EndNote collaborated over several months to bring this valuable feature to life.
The partnership between Paperpal and EndNote marks a significant advancement in the tools available to researchers and academics. By combining Paperpal’s Preflight feature with the robust reference management capabilities of EndNote, this integration offers a comprehensive solution for manuscript preparation. Authors can now ensure their work is of the highest quality, increasing their chances of publication and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in their fields.
